Tortuga Tiki

The wife wanted a very large sea turtle (tortuga). So over the winter I carved one out of a very large stump. I was able to get it mounted this past weekend and also painted. It was a fun project. Now back to the tikis. Aloha

"2Faced" Tiki

This is a "2Faced" tiki that I did this morning. Its a little different from my original sketch, but that's cool. Tiki work is fluid and sometimes you just go where the wood takes you, whether it's north or south! Stay tiki my friends.

A Tiki Named Tattoo

Finished up this guy this morning. I have decided to call him "Tattoo". His head is mostly covered with graphics and so is his left chest giving the appearance of tattoos. He even has a tattoo sleeve on his left arm. They will show up better once I'm able to get the stain and finish on him. It's 32 degrees today so that will have to wait. Tattoo stands 4 feet tall and is approximately 175 lbs currently, but will lighten up as he dries out. Tattoo is also about 20" in diameter, now thats some girth!. Stay warm and tiki on!

New Tiki Started. Progress Piece.

Just started this guy today. He will stand 3 1/2' tall when done. This guy is small enough that I can work on him inside, which is a good thing because it is only 18 degrees outside today. Once I have him wrapped up I will get back outside in the tiki shack. I have a tiki there I need to finish up, then I have a 5' tiki that I will be starting. Aloha, and think warmer weather.
